ISLAMIC, Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk). Saltuquids. 'Izz al-Din Saltuq, AH 523-563 / AD 1129-1168. Fals (Bronze, 20 mm, 3.98 g, 6 h), Erzurum (Theodosiopolis), circa AH 529-547 / AD 1134-1153. Imperial figure standing facing on the left, wearing crown and chlamys and figure, in military attire, standing facing on the right, holding sword in his left hand; both holding between them patriarchial cross set up on three steps. Rev. 'The Mighty Sultan Mas‘ud ibn Muhammad Izz al-Din Salduq ibn Ali' in Arabic. Album 1890. Rare. The reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.
